Problem:
Xero’s API does not provide direct access to the General Ledger Detail report, requiring manual exports to share financial insights with teams. This delays reporting and reduces visibility.

Solution:
I built a Make.com workflow to simulate how finance-to-operations reporting can be automated:

-Detects when a financial task is marked complete in Asana.

-Extracts transaction data from Xero as a workaround for GL reports.

-Formats the data into a CSV that mirrors the required report.

-Uploads the file directly to the relevant Asana task.

Outcome:
This project highlights how to creatively work around API limitations to connect finance and operations, reducing manual effort and ensuring timely access to financial data.
